A visit to Sarah’s gallery on the waterfront at the far west end of The Pier, Castletownbere is a must see/do, Sarah’s gallery is housed in the old stone carriage house located at the end of Castletownbere on the harbour.
Enjoy the wonderful works of Sarah across the Wild South West Atlantic Way and beyond.
Sarah’s gallery is an eye catching structure, straddling both shore and sea. At high tide the building appears to be half-immersed in the water with waves lapping the walls on three sides. It epitomises what Castletownbere is, a marriage bewyeen land and sea.
Inside it's all white, spacious interior a pared back minimalism that contrasts with the rich colours of the paintings. At the far end a glass door opens onto a wooden walkway giving wave top views across the bay. It's a fantastic setting, a surprise to find an art gallery in the midst of fishing boats on a West Cork pier."
A must visit to this most beautiful of galleries.
