Festivals, street carnivals, celebrations of music and art - all can be found throughout the year in Beara. Of course, don't forget the famous Ring of Beara Cycle that brings people from far and wide to enjoy the many delights of Beara, both on the bike and in the many restaurants and bars!a
The Bere Island parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9.30am from the GAA Pitch, Rerrin. For those travelling in from the mainland, a ferry leaves Castletownbere at 9am, with a shuttle bus service to the startline of the parkrun. The ferry returns to Castletownbere at 11.15am. Sunday 25th March – Sunday 1st April
16th - 17th June. Enjoy a weekend of nature walks and talks on Bere Island. Further details to follow shortly.
Saturday 14th July. An annual 5km and 10k road race around the eastern end of Bere Island.
Monday 16th - Saturday 21st July. A week's instruction of swimming and life saving skills hosted by Irish Water Safety.
Monday 23rd - Friday 27th July. GAA soccer skills camp.
10th-12th July, 31st July-2nd August, 14th-16th August.
Tuesday 7th- Sunday 12th August. A week of activities for all the family from theatre to biathlons, talent competition and a regatta day.
Saturday 18th - Sunday 26th August. A week long festival of historical talks, guided walks and workshops on Bere Island. More details to be announced shortly.
Saturday 25th August. Join us to mark the 4th birthday of the Bere Island parkrun.
Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September. Bere Island hosts the a football tournament for all those living on the Irish islands. A weekend of sport, music and craic.
