The Island

At the entrance to the magnificent Bantry Bay, guarding the harbour of Berehaven, lies the beautiful Bere Island. The Slieve Miskish and Caha Mountain ranges of the Beara Peninsula tower over the island providing a dramatic backdrop. Despite its proximity to Castletownbere, the island retains a distinct, friendly charm of rural places distant from urban life.

Our Ferries

We operate a number of ferries which provide a variety of transport options. This includes the MV Sancta Maria and the MV Oileán na hÓige, each with a capacity of 4 cars and 75 passengers. We also accommodate commercial vehicles and lorries. Our fleet facilitates large groups and parties of all sizes. Foot passengers can travel on all ferries and can purchase tickets onboard. All our ferries are licensed by the Irish Department of Transport and have lifejackets for all passengers.
