Beara Fitness is run by Gina Lewis. Her Studio is located behind the Topaz Garage on the way into Castletownbere, Beara. It is a bright airy space with a spring-based wooden floor.
Beara Fitness originally started as a community group set up by Gina and her friends but due to its popularity, Gina was able to turn it into a small business after she qualified as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and the business is now in its third year.
Gina offers a wide variety of classes for women, men, the older adult and teens. So there really is something for everyone!
These hour long classes for women, men and teens take place in a social and fun environment. Working within a group classes are suited to beginners and intermediates, allowing you work at you own level and pace. All classes are designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, which will help with weight loss, strengthen core muscles, improve flexibility, increase energy, develop better sleep patterns, de-stress and give an all over sense of well-being to the individual.
The older adult class runs for 45 minutes, these classes are suited for beginners and are designed for both women and men. As we get older it is very important to participate in regular exercise not only do we need it to improve our fitness levels, help with flexibility and to help with weight-loss but we need to keep our joints supple to prevent stiffness as this helps to maintain independent living.
Women's Beginners & Intermediate Classes:
Mon & Wed 9:30-10:30, Fri 7-8am
Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs 7-8pm
Men's Circuit Training: Tues & Thurs 8:15-9:15pm
Older Adult: Mon 10:45-11:30am & Fri 9:30-10:15am
Teen: Wed 2-3pm
All classes are pay-as-you-go or blocks of classes can also be purchased.
If group classes aren't for you and you lack motivation, Gina also offers personal training on a one-to-one basis.
She will firstly analyse your lifestyle and current weekly dietary information, a healthy and nutritious food plan will be discussed to work in tandem with your exercise goals, this can then be incorporated into your 'real world'. A proper exercise plan either with 1 or 2 weekly sessions will then be designed based on your ability, fitness levels and goals.
If you are completely new to fitness and exercise, personal training will give you the kick-start you may need to incorporate exercise into your life on a regular basis.
Individual Sessions available or Blocks of 8 Weeks available.
Only requirement for Beara Fitness is MOTIVATION. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
